What is TutorFind?

TutorFind is an agency.  It provides tutors for students of all ages. A simple phone call will get you started.  TutorFind was designed in 1992 by two elementary school teachers who realized that despite their best efforts as classroom teachers, some students were not coping well or working to their potential.  They decided to provide an individual based learning environment.  This service quickly became very popular in the community and a full-time concern for the teachers.  Specialists were hired for elementary and high school subjects in order to keep up with the demand.  We now offer individual tutorials, final exam preparation group tutorials, and full courses in many subject areas, all presented in a warm and caring learning environment.

Why does individual tutoring work?

We focus on the students' self-esteem and self-confidence.  Once a rapport develops between tutor and student, successful learning takes place and anything is possible.  Each session is individually tailored to fit the students' needs.  We focus on learning basic skills, assignment completion, exam preparation, maintaining mastered skills, time management and study techniques.

Where does tutoring take place?

Tutoring can take place in your home or in the office.  We ask, however, that if tutoring is to take place in the home, the student have a quiet environment to make the most of their tutoring time.

Who are the tutors?

All of our tutors are BC certified to teach in the area that they tutor.  They are motivated and enthusiastic!  We carefully screen and interview all of our tutors to ensure that you and your student 
receive the best help possible.

When is TutorFind open?

Our tutors work seven days per week, from 8am to 10 pm. We work all holidays, study breaks and during summer vacation.
